Temporary Part-Time role (6 months contract)

 2 days (approximately 14 hours per week)

Kinokuniya Bookstores of Australia is the largest retail bookstore in the Asia Pacific region. With our flagship store located in the heart of Sydney CBD, we stock an extensive collection of manga, graphic novels, art and design books, cookbooks, travel books and children’s literature. Our Chinese books and magazines are sourced from both Taiwan and mainland China and we also offer Japanese magazine subscription services.

We are currently hiring for the Chinese Books Department at our Town Hall store and are looking for someone to cover a 6-month temporary contact on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to speak fluent Mandarin
• The ability to read, write and type in both traditional and simplified Chinese is essential
• Has a passion for Chinese books and manga
• Knowledge of game merchandise and trending products would be preferred but not essential
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• A flexible team player

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in the retail industry
