Wedge Gallery: Bowerbird Bloom
We are thrilled to welcome Aura Parker to our Wedge Gallery!
Aura Parker is an Australian children’s book author, illustrator and designer. Her stories of longing and connection celebrate love and tenderness, with colours and patterns inspired by nature and the Australian Satin Bowerbird who loves to collect blue. Aura illustrates with watercolour, pen and coloured pencil in a mixture of traditional and digital techniques.

Bowerbird Blues was chosen for ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime in 2024 and read by 2.3 million people at the same time, inspiring a wave of blue art and craft. Aura has since created two more for the series, Bowerbird Brood and newly released Bowerbird Bloom (November 2025).

‘My designs feel like they belong on textiles, big and bright, with patterns and tiny details for children to explore. It’s a good way to get something fun, light and bright up on your wall.’
This exhibition features limited-edition wall hangings from Aura’s picture books printed on cotton linen. All wall hangings are handmade and supplied with a rod, please source your own hooks to suit your wall.
Now showing at Wedge Gallery Kinokuniya Sydney, Nov 5th – 18th 2025. Signed books available in store.
