Humans of Kino | Erin
Erin, from Eastwood
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a writer from Canberra currently attending film school in Sydney.
Why are you here today?
Kinokuniya is my favourite bookstore; I’m here as often as I can make it.
What book would you recommend to everyone and why?
My current recommendation is Smoke Gets in Your Eyes by Caitlin Doughty. It’s part bio, part historical study about her time working in a crematory. It’s equal (parts) fun and fact.
Tell us about a book that has changed your life.
Tithe by Holly Black. I read it as a young teenager and it opened my eyes to the kind of young adult fiction that was possible. Now, because of the book, I’m a writer.
If there was a book that could sum you up as a person, what would it be?
Hands down, Alice in Wonderland. Quite mad, full of questions and always searching for something new.
