Highlander : No Ordinary School Second Edition

A study of one of the South's most controversial institutions, an adult education center founded in 1932 that served as a resource for southern and Appalachian activists and a catalyst for major movements of social change including the Civil Rights and labor movements. This second edition details the school's recent work in Appalachia, its efforts to bring international grassroots groups together on common issues, and its support of emerging economic and environmental justice campaigns. Includes b&w photos. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
