The Utes : A Forgotten People (Reprint)

Resurrects the landmark account by a former Colorado state senator about the oldest residents of Colorado that white settlers encountered. Rockwell filled in a void in the literature of the Utes' history, culture, treaties and reservation life due, ironically, to the fact they were more peaceable toward whites than other Plains tribes--excepting the 1879 Meeker Massacre.
