Who are The Pyjama Foundation?

The Pyjama Foundation transforms the lives of children in foster care through learning, life skills and confidence. Through their ‘Love of Learning Program’, volunteers called Pyjama Angels are screened, trained and matched with a child in care. There are now more than 51,000 children in care in Australia. This number has more than doubled in the last ten years. Children within the foster care system have some of the lowest educational levels in Australia. The Pyjama Foundation believes if we empower these children through education, we can then change the direction of their lives and inspire them to dream big. Find out more.

Pick a card from the Gift Giving Wall and follow the guidelines on the card to select a book from us in store. Present your card with the book at the cashiers and we will discount your purchase by 20%*! Your generous gift will then be collected for The Pyjama Foundation.

 

Also in the gallery you will find a collection of original work by artist and illustrator Charles Santoso.

Charles is an award-winning illustrator who has exhibited both locally and internationally, and is the artistic talent behind our mascot Moichi and Moichi’s colourful new friends! He has illustrated several books, including Ida, Always written by Caron Levis, which was mentioned in the New York Times as “an example of children’s books at their best”, The Snurtch and I Don’t Like Koala, both written by Sean Ferrell. Charles has most recently illustrated Wishtree, a chapter book written by Katherine Applegate. Be sure to check out his amazing new work in the gallery!
