Visit us on Saturday May 6th to grab your FREE comics, check out (or enter!) the cosplay competition and join in on some Nanoblock fun! Plus, there will be spot giveaways on the day, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media!
FREE COMIC BOOKS // In store // All day (while stocks last)
Each person are allowed up to FOUR free titles on the day.
TWO titles will be the same for everyone, CHOUJIN X & ROOSTER FIGHTER & AVENGERS X-MEN #
and TWO other free FCBD comics of your choice from the below line-up.
Use the easy color-coded logo to choose the comic best for you.
GREEN: All Ages/ Everyone
Appropriate for children, teens, and adults.
BLUE: Teen(+)
Appropriate for teens and readers 13+
RED: Mature
Appropriate for mature audiences or 18+ only

Our ever-popular Cosplay Competition is back!
This year we have 3 categories – BEST COSPLAY / BEST UNDER 12 COSPLAY / PEOPLE’S CHOICE
Each winner will receive:
$100 Kinokuniya voucher
Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Sydney weekend double pass (17th and 18th June)
SMASH! weekend double pass (1st and 2nd July)
* Best Cosplay and Best Under 12 will be judged by Kinokuniya.
* People’s Choice will be will be determined by the most likes via public voting on Facebook.

Photos will be taken on the day by professional cosplay photographer Dom Stevens at our Cosplay Competition area located in Wedge Gallery (front of the bookstore).
One entry per person. Sorry no group photos.
Please arrive within your nominated time to ensure queue efficiency.
If you are intending to register for the Free Comics Queue and the Cosplay Competition, please ensure you select appropriate times that will allow you to attend both.

Going to school and making new friends can be tough. But going to school and making new friends while wearing a bulky hearing aid strapped to your chest? That requires superpowers! In this funny, poignant graphic novel memoir, author/illustrator Cece Bell chronicles her hearing loss at a young age and her subsequent experiences with the Phonic Ear, a very powerful – and very awkward – hearing aid.
The Phonic Ear gives Cece the ability to hear – sometimes things she shouldn’t – but also isolates her from her classmates. She really just wants to fit in and find a true friend, someone who appreciates her as she is. After some trouble, she is finally able to harness the power of the Phonic Ear and become “El Deafo, Listener for All.” And more importantly, declare a place for herself in the world and find the friend she’s longed for.
