We are thrilled to welcome Minaco Sakamoto to our Wedge Gallery! 

Her first ever exhibition in Sydney, “back and forth – 行ったり来たり-” will be on exhibit from 2 October to 14 October 2025.

“In this exhibition, you can see Australia and Japan’s unique native species travel back and forth between the two countries, exchanging and exploring each other’s cultures. I hope to capture this sense of connection, much like how a single line of art intertwines them together in one continuous brushstroke.”

Minaco has been creating one-line artworks since 2011, transforming what began as classroom doodles into her distinctive artistic style. Over the past decade, she has woven her love of nature and animals into her practice. Her work often reflects a deep connection to nature and animals, inspired by her love of wildlife and her visits to zoos and aquariums during her travels.
